Background
I'm from the heartland Breese, Illinois to be exact.
I went to St. Dominic's grade school and Mater Dei High School.
All my teachers were Notre Dame nuns, so I got a pretty good education.
My parents met during the occupation in France during World War II.
What is your favourite poetic verse?
My favorite poem is "The Owl and the Pussycat" written by Edward Lear (1812 - 1888).
Another author I like is Robert William Service (1874-1958) who wrote this poem:-
The Cremation Of Sam McGee
There are strange things done in the midnight sun
By the men who moil for gold;
The Arctic trails have their secret tales
That would make your blood run cold;
The Northern Lights have seen queer sights,
But the queerest they ever did see
Was that night on the marge of Lake Lebarge
I cremated Sam McGee.
from his Volume "The Spell of the Yukon and Other Verses"
Examples of poetry.
