Verse for Love ©

Nat Hall
Sandwick, Shetland
2004

Let me write words
to soothe
your pain - a line,
a verse,
words for your love,
free from
terror, burden or
lies...
just simple lines.
Don't want
bullshit - only
your love (!)
that biggest grin,
life in your
eyes...
let my ego
slip in this quill,
since my
future lies in
your hands.
Let your fingers
caress
my pen - or
your beauty lay
on paper;
spell-check my heart,
words for pleasure -
making me
love in between
rhymes.
