ON MY OWN ©

Katriona Wallace
Stirling, Scotland
2004

I feel I am so deep in love
With him so far away
My fond heart holds a gentle dove
That nestles there each day

Though golden seasons soon are spent
With September's paradise
The wistful winds of autumn might
Mean a compromise

And so, in solitude apart
I think of love on my own
But when I look within my heart
I know I'm not alone
