Midsummer Daisies ©

Stella
Fife, Scotland
2006

Midsummer a time for daisies
As tall as a two year old
On banks and in meadows
The perfect foil for poppies

They must be the cousins
Kin of garden flowers
Freely growing
Caught swaying in the breeze

She loves me she loves me not
White petals on a sunny face
Made for a lad and his lass
I trust you too have held one
