Lents slow march towards what It's all about
Patient steps holding fast
Holding onto the core
Like a shell stuck to some rock
Alive unless prised with some sharp object
Or kicked free just to die for want of the rock
What does not kill will make strong
Next time round will allow recognition
And the slow steps will be familiar
Knowing the journey is not a solitary stepping
Sharing faith that all things pass
And the glory of His rising will follow grief
In unity our heartbeats join in glorious rhythm
Our pulses attuned to Easter's message
A slow march solemn funeral like
But the sun will rise as promised on Easter morning
