I want... ©

Nat Hall
Sandwick, Shetland
2004

I want, I want, I
want it all -
blue, grey, night
sky;
high, low, pink
clouds - mood
of their own.

I want, I want,
I
want
it all -
deep words, your
heart; whales
in a song...
showers in tears,
bare emotions.

I want, I want,
I want
it all -
half, full,
pale grey, or
crescent moon; a
rain of stars -
night,
my beehive...
like
dreams
on strings,
blue
lullaby.
...Freedom to
glide -
those feathered
wings!

I want, I want,
I
want
it
all -
lilliput
shoes, bag
of brimstone
to throw
at will
along my path,
or at
crossroads.

...But above all,
just want
my life
out of this
shell,
anchored
to
yours
eternally.
