Deafening Silence ©

Alexander Orok
Cross River State, Nigeria
2005

Now you've gone...
deafening silence arose
Once there was laughter.
There are now tears,
And no smiles.
I'll hang onto the faith
Till we meet again

Embrace you again,
Is my heart's desire.
My arms are so empty, heart so heavy.
Life brought us together,
Not by chance but choice.
I believe we'll meet again.
Deafening Silence is not our portion.
