Bamboo ©

Stella
Fife, Scotland
2006

Rustling bamboo keeps me company
The year through
In summer blending
With cosmos lupins and cornflowers
In the snow standing bravely
When all others sleep

We need our bamboo friends
Who can stand in quiet thought
Yet make noise when the mood calls
Who blend move and sway
Then dance with us in the wind
